Ladies Friendship & Craft
Ladies Friendship & Craft group meets Tuesday mornings from 10am until 11.30am every week during the school terms.
We have dynamic speakers who bring us a Christian devotion each week. A cup of Tea/Coffee and refreshments are available (for minimal donation). It’s a great place to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
You are welcome to participate in the workshops, such as Cardmaking, Jewellery (when tutors available) or bring your own craft. We have many ladies who are skilled in many crafts ie embroidery, cross stitch, tatting, crochet, knitting and would love to help you learn a new craft. If you are not into crafty things but would like to come and just enjoy the Friendship of the ladies you would be most welcome.
Arranged demonstrations of new crafts, cooking, and other interesting things are organised regularly. We also have the occasional bus trip to places of interest.
We knit Blankets to send overseas to orphanages in Russia, and also knit for the New Born Unit at Waikato Hospital.
Fo more details contact Maureen or Jocelyn.
On Tuesday evenings during term time, Hukanui Bible Church drivers pick up primary school children from near HBC for Kenehi Kids.
At 6:30pm, the games begin, and the team of leaders runs games and, often, crafts, memory verse activities, and singing, and then share a Bible talk and supper.
At 7:45pm, the exuberant children pile back into the vans to go home.
Each term, we try to have one special outing, like a picnic, bonfire, or camp, and a theme which runs through all the Tuesdays to help the children to know more about the great God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
For more information, contact Lynda Linton.
Kenehi youth meet at 6:30pm on a Thursday night during the school term at Hukanui Bible Church.
We play games, have dinner together and learn from the bible.
For more information, contact Brett Falconer.
Hukanui youth is for High-School aged youth, and meet every Wednesday during school terms from 7-9pm. This is a time of games, community, bible study and small groups. We have a team of committed leaders who desire to walk alongside, care for and disciple the youth as they grow in their walk with Christ.
Please note: Due to the current renovations at the HBC property, Hukanui Youth is currently meeting at Whitiora Bible Church (24 Abbotsford Street) until further notice.
